Keys to Friendship

I've titled this journal "Keys to Friendship". Friendship is simple, easy and useful. Friendship is long lasting and serves a purpose. Friendship is a channel to deposit your emotions and cherish your memories.

Friends come and go in life, but it's the memories we don't want to lose. This Copitic stitch journal contains over 100 writing surfaces to capture special moments of time with you and your friends.

Five pieces of handmade paper hold each signature together. The handmade paper is created with recycled office paper and a blue napkin from my wedding. Each piece of handmade paper is ironed in the drying process to give the paper a smooth feel and a writable surface.
Think of the many occassions you have accumulated a token  from an event such as a ticket, or a flyer, or you recieve a special occasion card. You tuck it away in a box or a drawer or worse yet, you toss it away because there isn't a special place to store it. This friend journal contains a unique folder-like envelop to tuck those special memories inside, yet offers quick access to produce a singular smile.

As I create each journal, I form a special connection with my art work (in a very NON-creepy sense). Every journal is distintive and each ingredient from the paper choice to the trinkets on the cover as personally selected to bring out the best in each creation. Each journal is crafted with care.

I'm very fond of this "Keys to Friendship" journal, and I think the new owner of this journal will be fond of it, too.

March Madness

March Madness in the sports world means hours upon hours and days upon days of basketball. If you're like me, March Madness means nothing to watch on TV. I guess I could be considered a TV junkie, but honestly it's just noise in the background while I'm creating.

The best thing about March Madness is that Spring is just around the corner. I made two green journals that remind me of Spring. The first is a green Ivy journal, perfect for recording information about your garden. The second is an eclectic envelope journal, perfect for a Spring journey.
This Green Ivy book reminds me of Spring.

The Coptic Stitch holds five signatures together. Each signature is encased with a sheet of onion paper. The onion paper is made with 50% cooked red onions.

Buttons and ribbon are a perfect match to hold the journal closed.

Here's an Ivy covered envelop on the onion paper.

Each signature also contains 20 lb. white paper. There are over 100 writing surfaces in this journal.

Eclectic covers make the most interesting journals.

This cover contains everything from a broken necklace to a seashell.

A pop of orange gives this journal a light and airy feel. Each signature contains a handmade envelope to hold precious memories. Yes, there is also handmade paper at the beginning of each signature, creating over 100 writing surfaces.

20 lb writing paper makes this journal very useful.

The jouranl uses a leather strap to keep it closed.

Inside is blue speckled hand made paper. There are five signatures with 20lb paper following the handmade encasement.

I'm up to 20 large journal in my inventory, plus 4 small and 12 minis. I know that March Madness will be ending soon, but there's no end to the creative journal making process.
